My 13mo went into heat a few days ago and only having rescues in the past, I'm new to the whole situation. We're signed up for a class and a barn hunt workshop over the next three weeks. I plan to speak with the trainers ahead of time (the trainer for her current class isn't phased and said it's good training for her and the other dogs for her to keep coming). I also am not sure if I could tell when she's bothering the other dogs, so I stressed that if we're being disruptive I'm happy to leave but may need to be told. My question - is there and accepted etiquette for all this etiquette and protocol certification? Should she wear a diaper for classes? If she doesn't she's sure to leave a few drops on the ground when she sits. Should I bring some paper towel and spray to clean up after ourselves? This likely isn't the only heat cycle she'll get to have (considering postponing spay a few years or doing an OSS) so I'd love any feedback for making it as minimally impactful to the people and dogs around us as possible.
