Our days were filled with lectures, practice labs and writing care plans. Clinical training was also required to provide patient care under the guidance of an instructor. We would often visit patients in the hospital that we were caring for, write care plans and submit them to our clinical instructors the next morning.
Add to that the fact that many of our classmates had to work in order to pay tuition and dormatory fees as well as to feed themselves from time to time.
We used to write papers on weekends, or late into the night before going to bed. Then we started the process again at 0700.
This is why so many of us did it in our early twenties. It would be impossible to do it today.
